Philip Starr Building

2003

The Philip Starr Building is a 52,000 square-foot, two-story office and community building home to the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe’s Department of Natural Resources Headquarters. It includes spaces for Fisheries, Wildlife and Policy Departments. Extensive wetlands, panoramic views of Mount Rainier, and an environment with a pristine visual connection on all sides, blends the structure with its natural surroundings. The entry vestibule features a two-story space with exposed cedar heavy-timber elements and a large inviting stone fireplace/chimney, the tones and textures of which connect the building users to nature.
