Spanaway Junior High School

The Spanaway Junior High School shares its site with Thompson Elementary School, a pilot project for the Washington Sustainable School Protocol. The new 100,900 square-foot junior high shares a ground loop HVAC system with its neighbor and uses renewable resource materials and light shelves. The school features three, two-story classroom wings, a gymnasium, auxiliary gym, and stage, which doubles as a music classroom opening to a large commons area, and a library on the second floor with lots of natural light.
