The Washington State History Musuem is a 105,000 square-foot, three-story structure featuring a unique roof—three transverse vaults intersect the main longitudinal vault, creating a bold architectural feature. The entry arch, public amphitheater, a 215-seat auditorium, and many exhibit areas add to the unique character of this iconic structure as it tells the story of the History of Washington. The roof is framed by a combination of curved precast concrete roof elements and cast-in-place concrete beams. The balance of the floor structure is post tension concrete.
